Deborah Owens, host of Wealthy Radio on WEAA, talked to Dr. Maya Rockeymoore recently about the lack of wealth in black households, which Rockeymoore wrote about on Forbes.com. African American women have an average of less than two hundred dollars in net worth compared to 15,000 of their white female counterparts.
Black women are in crisis. The numbers are dire, despite the fact that we see African American women achieving success in entertainment and business. We need to focus on the vast majority of African American women who are struggling to get by from paycheck to paycheck and who are the least likely group to ever be married. So we really need to focus on single black women.
