T. Kevin Walker is a native of the Carolinas (born in South and raised in North) who earned his undergraduate degree in journalism and mass communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

For more than a decade, he served as managing editor of the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Chronicle, where he and his small newsroom claimed more than two dozen state and national journalism awards for media excellence.

In the fall of 2015, Kevin relocated to Washington, D.C., to attend American University. He earned an MA in Strategic Communication in July with a 3.9 GPA and a perfect score on his graduate thesis: an examination of vitriol spread via the anonymous social media app Yik Yak.

Kevin is happy to be a part of the CGPS family; the organization’s goals align with issues he has reported on and with his own personal values.
